Group Riding 101 – Group Ride Training
4/20/25 08:30 am - Tamaques Park
New to Group Riding? New to the Club? Come out and join me at Tamaques Park in Westfield for the "Group Riding 101" – Group Ride Training!
We’ll meet at Tamaques Park in Westfield, in the main parking lot by the Tennis Courts.
We’ll spend the first 30 minutes going over the things you need to know to ride safely in a group of cyclists. Topics such as the Rules of the Road, the verbal/hand signals used to control the ride, proper gear and rider etiquette.
After that we’ll go out on a short 15-mile ride at a D pace (11-12 mph average, 13 mph in the flats) so that we can put what we learned into practice.
The “classroom” portion begins promptly at 08:30 am, so please arrive early. If, however, you’re not new to any of this and you want to skip the class just want to join us for the ride, plan to arrive in time to depart with us around 09:00.
**Please Note** Non-members of AOCCNJ are allowed 1 guest ride. If you wish to ride with us after that, you'll need to register with the club.
This is the route we’ll be taking:
