I initially started cycling in order to honor a loved one through a charity ride. I did raise a good amount of money that day, but I was the one who really benefited by discovering cycling! I never enjoyed any exercise until I discovered the challenge and exhilaration of cycling and it’s changed my life. Becoming involved with this club has taken this all to another level because it’s such a fantastic, motivating, and supportive group that has become like another family to me.

While I've always had an interest in cycling, I didn't do much of it as an adult. However, after investing in a quality bike and becoming a member of the Club, my passion for riding has taken off. It's not just about the health benefits; it's also about being part of a community of individuals who share similar cycling interests and motivations. Being a part of the club not only helped me develop the proper cycling skills but I have also made some good friends along the way. I look forward to continuing to be a part of this club in the years to come.

I only started seriously cycling in 2017 as a way to get into better shape, and I’ve certainly achieved that goal! Cycling quickly became a passion for me. Finding the AOCCNJ and the wonderful people here has only made it better. The friendship and comradery make riding a great experience that I look forward to every single time.

I have been cycling and a member of HBCC now known as AOCC since 2018. Cycling has become not only a passion to me but also a vital part of my life.

Bike racing became my passion in 2009, I've raced competitively all over the U.S., in Canada and Europe but I find the camaraderie and adventures with the club to be the foundation of my success. As a member of the club since 2014, I've seen it explode in all the best ways. I'm dedicated to encouraging new members and helping riders of all levels improve their cycling skills while ensuring they have fun and lots of smiles along the way.

While going to school in Eugene, I was trying to write my thesis while living on nothing but the highest quality junk food. Finally, something had to give besides just my belt size and I did as one does in Eugene: I started jogging. It's a slippery slope! Before I knew it, I had 4 marathons under my belt and qualified for Boston. Years later, when the "joint pounding" got to be too much, I bought a new bike, learned how to clip in, and found this incredibly welcoming bike club -- AOCC!!! What a marvelous group of folks.

My bike is my psychotherapist, physical therapist, and social director. For me, there is nothing like the escape of riding a bike with my friends from the HB community - my cycling crew and family! Come ride with us. Whether you are a recreational or competitive rider, you’ll find we are a very welcoming community with members from all walks of life who are just passionate about cycling!
